Full text search with Elasticsearch

Tools-in-Action
Big Data & Machine Learning

There are a few areas out there where you can’t afford to have a website without a search bar. But do we have to create the search engine from scratch? In most cases the more reasonable thing to do is learn how to use one of the tried and tested open source projects. For instance Elasticsearch, an established player in the search game. During the presentation I will provide necessary technical background, explain how to use it and show a couple of tricks to help make the search experience on your website a delight for the user. I'm focusing on full text search, the most direct form of experience. You will get to know what an inverted index is, how to query an existing index and how to configure it so that users can easily find what they're looking for.

Scheduled on Wednesday from 17:10 to 17:40 in Room 3
